Title
Risk and Courage

Mayor Kirk Caldwell shares his keys to effective leadership that guided him to successful careers in the private and public sectors.  Placing the needs of his organization above his own and his willingness to walk a path others dared not, led Mayor Caldwell to become a Managing Partner at Ashford & Wriston and his rise to Majority Leader within just 4 years of serving in the Hawaii State House of Representatives.  Always bearing in mind Hawaii’s unique sense of place, Kirk reflects on lessons learned through successes as well as failures that culminated in his being elected Honolulu’s 14th Mayor last November.
